Our Story

- William Johnson, Editor -
I'm an editor who believes children's stories should be crafted with intention, care, and clarity. But more than that, I believe in what happens when a child climbs into someone's lap and a book opens between them. That moment — when the phone goes down, the world quiets, and a story begins — is one of the most important things we can give a child.
The research backs it up. Children who are read to regularly develop stronger language skills, bigger vocabularies, and deeper concentration long before they ever walk into a classroom. But the numbers only tell half the story. What reading really builds is a ritual — the thing you do together, the voices you make, the way they get to pick the book. A child may not remember every word on the page, but they remember the feeling. The warmth. The closeness.
And stories do something else that doesn't show up in any study. They teach children how to feel. Fear, jealousy, frustration, kindness, bravery — kids encounter all of it for the first time inside a story, alongside a character, with someone they love right there beside them. That's powerful for a three-year-old trying to make sense of the world. A story shouldn't lecture them. It should walk with them.
That's why the books themselves matter so much. A story that uses a child's name, that reflects their world, that feels like it was written just for them — that's the book they want to hear again. And again. And again. That repetition isn't a child being stubborn. It's a child falling in love with a story. And that love is the foundation of every reader they'll ever become.
Storyline Studio was created as a place where thoughtful storytelling comes first — where language, illustration, and structure work together to create stories that feel considered and meaningful. Each child brings their own rich tapestry of abilities, curiosity, and way of understanding the world. The stories we create are designed to respect that individuality, offering moments that feel familiar, encouraging, and quietly engaging.
I'm drawn to stories that leave room for wonder and a gentle sense of play, without overstating the message. My work focuses on shaping experiences that help children feel seen, confident, and eager to turn the page.
At its heart, Storyline Studio exists to create children's books that feel personal not because they are customized, but because they reflect something true — stories made with care, meant to be read with attention, and shared with joy — and maybe a little mischief.

- Amalia Ordóñez, Art Director -
Hi, I’m Amalia, the art director behind our books. Oh, and this little guy beside me is Morty — our studio’s little spark of imagination who’s always by my side. Every story begins with my creative vision — shaping the look, mood, and personality of each world we build. I sketch concepts, develop characters, explore expressions, and think through all the little visual details I want children to notice and love.
Because our books are personalized, part of my role is guiding how your child is brought into the artwork. I use a blend of hands‑on art direction and AI‑assisted tools to refine likeness, lighting, composition, and color so everything feels seamless and polished — while still keeping the warmth, charm, and signature style that Storyline Studio is known for.
My goal is simple: to create illustrations that feel alive, inviting, and full of heart, so every child can step into a story that feels truly their own.
